Call us in the MORNING...we'll get you in TODAY—GUARANTEED!

Just for Kids

Try these fun experiments all about tooth decay and the importance of fluoride. Make sure you ask an adult to help before starting!

Acid Invasion!

You will need:

  • 2 clean chicken bones
  • 1 container
  • White vinegar

Step #1

Fill your container with 2 inches of vinegar.

Step #2

Soak the chicken bones in the vinegar overnight.

Guess: What do you think will happen to the bones overnight?

Bones are full of calcium, and so are your teeth! The vinegar is an acid, similar to the acids in your mouth that can cause your teeth to start decaying. Did you also notice that the vinegar made the bones softer?

The same thing can happen to your teeth! Soft spots are weak, and are likely to get tooth decay! Brush your teeth at least 2 times each day with a fluoride toothpaste to prevent an acid invasion!

Fluoride is Your Friend!

You will need:

  • 2 hard boiled eggs with white shells
  • 2 containers
  • Brown colored soda(enough to almost fill the containers)
  • Fluoride toothpaste

Step #1

Paint the shell of one of the eggs with your favorite fluoride toothpaste and put it in one of the cups.

Step #2

Put the second egg in the other cup (no toothpaste on this one!). Cover the eggs with brown soda.

Step #3

Check the eggs in a day or two.

Guess: What do you think will happen to the egg with toothpaste? What about the egg without toothpaste?
